Schedule

Screenings are held at the Early Childhood Center at Eagle View Elementary (6539 Co. Road 11, Breezy Point). Please expect to be at the screening for approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Please contact us at 218-562-7520 if you have any questions. Please note if you have a morning or afternoon appointment time preference. Time slots are limited and we do our best to accommodate everyone's requests. We schedule appointments from 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Once you've registered please consider your child as registered for that day. Approximately one (1) month prior to the screening day you will receive a letter in the mail with your appointment time and further information on what to bring to your child's appointment. We will give you a reminder call one week prior to the appointment. If at any time you need to make changes to this scheduled appointment, please call our office at 218-562-7520. In Minnesota all children are required to complete Early Childhood Screening before they enter Kindergarten. Screening is available for all 3-5 year olds; it is best to have your child screened between 3 and 4 years of age. The purpose of the screening is to provide parents with a comprehensive view of the child s health and development. Screening also helps a school district identify children who may benefit from district and community resources available that help in their child s development. Early Childhood Screening includes the following components: hearing, vision, height, weight, development, immunization review, and nutritional assessment. The vision screening helps detect potential eye problems but is not a substitute for a comprehensive eye exam. Professionals, school staff, and volunteers will be present at the screening to guide you and your child through each component. This screening supports children s readiness for Kindergarten and promotes positive child health and development outcomes. Every effort is made to make this a fun and positive experience.
